Messy Church
Messy Church is a growing phenomenon. From its first beginnings in a church near Portsmouth in 2004, there are now Messy Churches all over the UK and in over 30 other countries around the world!
The label ‘Messy Church’ is not just a description of some of the kinds of things that go on that are quite messy; things like hand printing with paint and decorating biscuits with gooey icing. Not everyone enjoys getting messy so it is not obligatory – there will be plenty of other things that aren’t messy at all!
The name ‘Messy Church’ also recognises that we live ‘messy’ lives. Things don’t always go how we’d like; often we feel disorganised and out of control. So if that’s you – do come along.
Messy Church is for all ages, not just for children, (in fact children must be accompanied). So come on your own, come as a family, come with your friends and neighbours.
At Messy Church we have a theme for the day and start with activities that relate to that theme. Then we’ll have a ‘Celebration Time’ with songs, bible story and prayer activities. Messy Church will finish with everyone sharing a meal together.
Messy Church is normally on the Last Sunday in the month from 4.00 – 5.30pm. Check our calendar for the next one.
Messy Church is currently paused. Please contact the vicar, Andy, Here for more details of activities for children and families.
Why not come along and join us?
